- MOPEDS START BY PUMPING THE PEDALS LIKE A BICYCLE AND A SCOOTER JUST STARTS LIKE REAL MOTORCYCLE AND GOES... MOPED GENERALLY DONT NEED A SPECIAL LICENSE EITHER.
- Here's some info on moped laws in canada, im not sure how accurate this site is though: http://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Moped_Laws:_Canada And I found this too: Ontario scooter and moped riders willl be required to taken specific a written test, as well as a road test in order to obtain a license to ride their vehicles. Previous laws allowed riders with a regular drivers license to operate scooters and mopeds. The written test law went into effect in November, 2005 and the road test will begin in the Spring of 2006. http://www.pacificscooters.com/2005/12/ontario-canada-has-new-laws-for.html
- you might need to take an operator's license test in order to be able to drive it on the road. where i am, you are REQUIRED to have a license and a helmet as well :( EDIT: with the license you can also drive boats.
- mopeds usually have a chassis of tubes just like a motorcycle while scooters have more fairing, a bit like cars. Surely you have seen a VESPA or a LAMBRETTA? If not then search them, they were the first scooters. Having said this, ANYTHING that's 50cc is classified a moped, so you can have a 50cc vespa scooter that's also a moped. moped : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moped scooter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scooter_(motorcycle)
- Moped is like a bike. Scooter is like a motorcycle.
